There's plenty of tracks where you can drift. My favorites are Suzuka, Tsukuba, Silverstone, Abbeville, Norschleife, Pukekohe Park, Hidden Valley(Sky city triple crown), kenton fig 8, Mobikrog, Lienz, Wanneroo. I hope this is the start of a good association between our 2 communities.įor the tracks well you have so many real life tracks and cool fantasy tracks. wav files so its easy to make changes there.Ī big thanks to maug for setting up the dw connection, great stuff mateĪlso big ups and thanks to Phil for running a great site here at DW, while doing all the other stuff that you do. Sounds are quite easy for users to modify themselves, you can find all the sounds in the gamedata\sounds\obs folder, make your own sounds, put your own car sounds in game, or change sounds for another car, as sound modding does not cause online mismatch issues. We will be working on fps optimisation very soon setting up LOD models for each car which will vastly improve frame rates and make it more driveable for everybody.
I hope that someday more and more professional drivers use it as a tool to learn new tracks and keep their skills in tune, with the price of petrol and tyres these days its quite eccomonical, and when you crash, well its good to have that escape button Although it is still in progress and there are lots of changes and goodies coming, we have a good base to work with and its already enjoyed by many people of differing levels from all around the world.
IMO its already the most realistic drift sim that there is, having tried them all, with our mod you need to use all the proper techniques to do the biz, its certainly not drift 4 u physics.
Having some more real data to work with (spring rates, valve rates, gear ratios, dyno sheets, preferred final drive ratios etc etc for each of the cars in the mod) and having more driver input on the physics from proper drifters on here will be essential in improving the mod and will be very very much apprecated. I drive an oldskool rwd rallycar IRL here in Australia so I kinda know what im doing in the sideways department, but I dont have a lot of proper drift experience. Thanks for your positive comments and feedback guys, muchly appreciated.įirstly Intros, I'm DMz and are one of the modders behind the scenes and also I own the oversteer domain so I started all this madness lol. You also got my email and msn in my profile(email same as msn).
So if you think you can help for anything you can contact me here in this thread or by PM. It will save us a lot of time and the mod will progress faster. So if anyone have this kind of datas and is ok to send it to us we'll be very happy. We have currently a a lot of work done but there's still a lot of things to do/finish/tweak.įeedback is welcome(especially if you drift irl and you are a sim player), we're also looking for modders(physics or 3D) and technical datas from car parts used in drifting.
Oversteer is also looking for help at any level. Some cars interiors can also be skinned(not all cars). The driver's suit and helmet can be skinned. Each bodykit can be skinned, and also FMIC, seats and windows. There's also templates for skins that are available. I would also recommend the use of real feel FFB plugin if you have a wheel with force feedback. Mouse is not supported by rFactor and keyboard is awefull to be honest. _the best way to be able to feel fully the potential of the mod is by using a wheel.
Last version is 2.3, it's a full version. Here's a video made by one of our players: (if you are able to watch the video in high quality it will be better, just click on the video to start it, then click once again it will open the youtube page of the video, then you can set the high quality option on the bottom right of the video) Anyone canĪttempt any events, timezones are just to allow everyone to participate.
We currently have three different series, one series for European timezones, one for USA/Canada/New Zealand and one for Asia/Australia. Side to the mod we run some championships and various events(practices or twin drifting contests). Inside the mod you will find plenty of real life skins including some from famous drifters from different places around the world, and some fantasy skins and skins used by our players in our competitions. We're making a drift mod for rFactor, a racing simulation game. I'm here representing the Oversteer's staff at OVERSTEER Online Drifting. Oversteer Drift Mod for rFactor + Sekia Hills 1st beta
